AKC Reunite is the nation’s largest non-profit pet microchip and recovery service. To begin registering your microchips automatically to the adopter at time of adoption you will need to first have an account set up with AKC Reunite.

Step 1: Fill out the initial form
To begin, click this link to fill out the initial form. You will need to have on hand:
- Main Contact First and Last Name
- Organization (Rescue)’s Name
- Address
- Phone Number
- Number of pets you adopt out per year (Estimated)
- Brand of microchips and scanner you are currently using
- Rescue’s Primary Vet Name and Phone Number
Step 2: Check Your Email for your AKC Reunite's main contact email
Once your submission has been received, a regional AKC Reunite representative will reach out as your main point of contact to walk you through setting up the rest of your account. (See map below for your area manager)
This is also when you can discuss whether you will be enrolling *only* AKC Reunite chips (with prepaid enrollment), or if you'll want to enroll all brands of microchips for a nominal lifetime enrollment fee. Be prepared to answer with roughly how many and what frequency you expect to enroll other brands of microchips.
You will receive an email with your Source ID (also referred to as your Enrollment ID.) Be sure to check your spam folder. The email will look like this and your ID will be in dark blue and bold.
