Learn how to easily set your pet's status as adopted and how to add the person that adopted the pet to the pet's profile.
When your pet has found its forever home, setting its status as 'Adopted' is quick and easy.
First, go to the pet's profile and click on the "Intake/Outcome" tab.
Next, be sure the 'Intake' event is correct. If you added the pet without updating the intake event, the date will be set to the day you entered the pet. So, if the pet came to your organization on a different day than the day you entered them, edit the intake date to be the correct date.
Now we're ready to add the adoption! Click 'Add Outcome Event' at the top of the page, and an 'Outcome' box will appear.
Under 'Outcome Type' select 'Adoption'.
You can now add the 'Outcome Date' and select the 'Adopter'.
If the adopter is not already in the dropdown, just type their name, and click 'Create' to add the new person.
Then, click 'Create Outcome Event' to save the adoption.
The outcome event will save, and now the pet's status will be automatically updated to 'Adopted'.
That's it! Your sweet pet is now adopted and off to their happy life! 🥰💕
