With over 270 health conditions and traits analyzed—including genetic diversity—Embark’s DNA tests equip adopters with vital information to share with their veterinarian, helping every dog live their healthiest, happiest life.
2. What does this mean for my rescue?
Through Embark’s Shelter and Rescue Program, you’ll gain access to discounted DNA kits for yourself and your adopters (no minimum purchase required). Each adopter kit purchase will also help support your rescue by earning you 5% commission on Breed ID kits and 10% commission on Breed and Health kits. Most importantly, by providing key information about a pet's breed, health, and genetic diversity, this partnership helps empower your adopters to care for their pets proactively and share any concerns with their vet.

You should receive a confirmation email in about 3-5 business days with your acceptance and Embark will also mail flyers to your mailing address listed so start sharing your discount with adopters!

- What do the kits earn in commission?
The Breed ID kit will earn 5% back to your organization and the Breed and Health kit will earn 10% - You can also choose to earn free kits for your rescue instead! Payments or tests are issued quarterly. - Can this be integrated into our website?
Absolutely! Your rescue will have it's own QR code that adopters can scan to purchase discounted kits. Putting this on your website will help make it even easier for them to find. - Do the tests expire?
Yes. Each kit has a shelf life of 2 years after purchasing. This ensures that the stabilizing fluid in the tube can still do its job to get you the most accurate results. - If we do the test for our pets now, can we transfer the results after they're adopted?
Of course! If you haven't already activated the pet's profile, you can just pass the activation code from the kit off to your adopter and have them do it themselves. Otherwise, you can transfer any pet from your Embark profile. - How long does it take to get the test back?
When your test gets to the lab it takes 2-4 weeks (typically closer to 2) to process. Then it just takes 3-5 days to ship to you! - Does Embark share my dog's DNA data with anyone?
Embark will never share information without consent. If you choose to allow it, they may use your dog's anonymized genetic data to assist their scientists and partners in research to improve canine healthcare, nutrition, and genetic disease treatment. - I accidentally ordered a the breeder box, help!
