Can I have more than one microchip database registration set up at a time?

Pawlytics supports multiple registration options for automatic microchip registration with your preferred company (such as HomeAgain, AKC Reunite, and PetLink).

With so many options, you may be wondering if you can register microchips with more than one database at a time.

Generally, it is not recommended to register a microchip to more than one database at a time without first speaking to your representative from that microchip database.

 
This is not advised for a couple of reasons:
  1. If the pet gets lost, the person who finds the pet and scans the chip may see multiple database registration companies to call and be unsure of where to start
  2. Depending on the registration company, you may be charged for each new registration
If you are already using one of our microchip registrations, you can switch to a new one in your Organization Settings as they go live.
 

What if I have leftover microchips? Can I still use a new registration? How does Pawlytics know where to send the information?

You can absolutely still register your old microchips through your old registration option and still turn on a new one for your future registrations.

Reach out to your representative directly (find their information below) and let them know you want them to ONLY register their own branded microchip. Then you can have multiple registrations turned on, but ensure that each chip is only being registered once.
